Boots are true to size

This is an update to my first review - in the end, I made a huge mistake when I decided to follow the advice of other reviewers here and got these gorgeous boots half size smaller. When I tried them on at home, it seemed that they fit a bit tight, but not too much. However, as soon as I wore them outside for a full day, I realized my mistake and ended up with my toes hurting. Alas, by then it was already too late to exchange them due to Cheaney's rules. A real shame, because the boots are gorgeous. I wish I got them in my regular size.

Gorgeous boots, mind the size

I am in love with these boots - they are so well-made, fantastic color, easy to put on and take off, roomy and not heavy at all. However, I advise you ladies to try them on in store before purchsing, if you can. I usually get size 5 in Cheaney, but followed everyone’s recommendations here to go down half a size in this particular model. So the boots worked well for me width-wise, but they are somewhat tight length-wise (I have a longer big toe). Fingers crossed that after a few days of wear the leather gives in a bit. It’s only noticeable when I walk - if I check the big toe when I’m standing still, it seems that there’s more than enough room. Otherwise, these are gorgeous and classy!

Beautiful

Have wanted these for ages, was treated to them for Christmas. They are beautiful quality and fit like a dream- so comfortable. They do come up big, I sized down a half size.
So glad I finally have a pair!

Lovely lovely boot !

Bought these as was sick of cheaper ankle boots off the high street chains which eventually leaked and lost their attraction. These boots look great and fit like a glove. They are larger in size so you could go down a half size as I did and they’re still pretty roomy , nice for my thick socks. From the minute I put them on my feet look and feel like a million dollars. They are comfortable from the word go so no wearing in needed. Cheaney are my new go to store !

Could not love these more

Bought these after seeing someone on IG wearing these whose style I liked, and who said they were comfortable, waterproof, and had hiked up mountains with these. Love these for the style alone but now I have these I believe every word she said. Soooo comfortable, with a tiny bit of arch support, I did around 13000 steps the first day I wore them and have been wearing them every day since. They run large, even for my big feet, but I didn't want to go 1/2 size down as my feet are quite wide. Best of all they are beautiful boots, so many people stop and ask me where I got them from - wish I got a commission because I am pushing people your way! Already dreaming of my next pair - maybe a pair of brogues for the summer.

Hardwearing boots

I bought a pair of these boots three years ago and they remain a firm favourite. The craftsmanship is excellent and they have worn extremely well - they have a vintage look to them when they have been worn in and go with almost anything. Yes, they are expensive, but it's clear after several years of wear that you are paying for top quality workmanship - if you are seeking to invest in a pair of superior quality boots that will last you a lifetime (rather than merely a season) these are a great choice.

Wonderful New Boots

These boots are just perfect. I need a half-size, so they are an ideal fit (I usually take a 41 and the size-guide was quite right, the 7.5 was spot-on). They even smell like a dream.

Gorgeous boots

These boots are gorgeous, the workmanship by skilled craftsmen is just excellent, plain to see - totally bowled over by these boots. I got the 5.5, although sometimes I wear a 6 and they fit like a glove, so comfortable to wear. I just love the mahogany colour, mid brown with a lovely golden hue. Will be wearing them with jeans rolled up a bit to show them off, with skirts, dresses and leggings and expect, with their highest quality, to get many years use from them. Could not recommend them highly enough - Please.....treat yourself to a pair!

Derby Brogue Boot

The term 'Derby', refers to any style of footwear with a 'open' lacing system, where the facings are stitched on top of the vamp meaning they can be opened outwards, as such, are suitable for a wide foot or a foot with a high in-step.

The word 'brogue' refers to the punched detailing, which at one point was used to let water out of country shoes; these days, they are purely decorative and add a more casual edge.
