Product Reviews for Harrington R Capped Oxford in Black Calf Leather | Rubber Sole
I have had Cheaney Shoes before and they were superb for ten years. I imagine that with care, these will too. They are far superior to any other shoemaker's efforts that I have tried over the years.
Excellent pair of shoes, so good in fact I bought them twice. Perfect fit and comfortable right out of the box. Would highly recommend.
Very nice formal oxfords with Rubber soles ideal for the rough weather here in Norway when you need black formal shoes.
These are the most expensive shoes I've ever bought (though I was lucky enough to get them in a sale), however they are well worth the money at full price. I wish I had bought two pairs at the same time. Lovely fit and finish and none of the usual 'new shoes' anxiety. A real pleasure to wear.
Seeming solid, well constructed and heavy out of the box, they felt surprisingly light on my feet on the first wearing, when I was out and about on foot for much of the day. The vibram soles had a bit of spring, and felt fairly secure on slippery surfaces that might prove challenging for leather soles. By the end of the day, they where already losing the "new shoes" stiffness, and I only had a little rubbing on my heels from the embossed trademark - a pair of thin insoles might be in order - rather less than I would expect from a day on foot from a broken in pair of formals. Looking forward to next Christmas's overtime, and Cheaney's sale!
These shoes arrived with an obvious manufacturing error (a 1cm "hole" in the sewing of the upper). This was not a small discrete issue - this was obvious. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of quality control from the person who sewed the upper (partly...), the person who fixed the upper to the sole, any quality control person and the person who packaged the shoe - all should have noticed this issue. This was my first pair of Cheaney shoes - they are being returned for a refund and I will not be buying from Cheaney again.
This is my third pair of Cheaney shoes and like the others the fit and finish is superb. I can buy these shoes and wear them immediately without worrying about wearing them in. I expect them to last for a long time.
A very fine shoe. Well made and very comfortable. Worth pointing out that the last assumes a fairly low arch for a G width.
These are fine shoes but I did return them for two reasons.... 1. They come up half a size too small compared with my Arthur III and Avons. I guess this is the last shape. 2. I think the leather isn't as good as my Arthur III so I think I'm going to go for the Wilfred instead. Still pretty good shoes though.
Bought for the office and they certainly look the part. Very smart and polish up beautifully. Delighted with the quality and the grip of the Dainite sole is phenomenal. I have to be honest and say I'm finding they pinch a bit across the top of the foot but I'm hoping that will ease with time and wear. Possibly not quite the right last for my foot shape (my first Cheaneys) but I still love them.
English shoes. The only choice for a gentleman.
Bought these shoes during the on-line Christmas sales, and was delivered first week of January to Norway. I have C&J shoes, and these are close to same quality. Never had these Goodyear welted Dainite Rubber Sole before, but I am very pleased with them so far.
Fantastic pair of shoes. Very good quality and very comfy. This is my first pair of Cheaney and definitely not my last!
I have been very loyal to this brand for years. Top quality. Expensive but good value, particularly as they can be refurbished. Delighted with the purchase.
I expect great quality from Cheaney, and as ever these shoes deliver. I generally don't buy rubber soled shoes, but the design and comfort of these are very solid. Fantastic shoes, and especially pleased I found them on sale!
