Cutting cost, below quality

As a long time fan of Cheaney's I felt I had better post a review of these boots, the insole is a cost cutting measure to hide the leather board insole and the lack of a heal sock. If you are thinking of buying any boots or shoes with this insole go up half a size, I had to remove them as it made the boots to small for my feet, that is when I saw the nails and lack of a heal sole/sock. I made a mistake of getting a cover sole fitted before I saw my boots, (QC failure at the factory and my cobbler for not spotting it) I took them back to the factory and Barry managed to get a pair of heal socks put inside but could not exchange my boots due to the cover sole I had fitted, there is a fault with my boots and was shocked that Cheaney's QC let them go. I love the look of the leather but the QC error really pisses me off as I have a number of Cheaney's in my collection and regret having the cover sole fitted before I had seen the boots, that is a problem with having them posted and not seeing them first. I will never buy any boots or shoes that have any form of insole fitted as standard. I am sorry for having to post this but I feel I have to so others are aware of sizing up and hope the guys at Cheaney's change there sizing info for any product that has the insoles fitted. And at least cover the nails and do the job as good as they have in the past.

Chukka Boot

Chukka boots have been around for a long time and they are said to be originally from India. Of course, they were mostly worn by the British Army who were based in India at this time and more commonly worn by off-duty polo players. The name “chukka” is said to be derived from the playing period in polo which is called a 'Chukka' or a 'Chukker'.

A Chukka boot can be characterised as a low ankle boot and usually features two or three-eyelets, an open lacing system and a rounded toe. The chukka boot's appeal lies in its ability to be worn with a large array of outfits. Reliable and versatile, chukka boots are suited to all seasons.
