Classic Shoes

I love these shoes. These shoes may be commonplace in the U.K., but they get noticed in the US. Sturdy construction, beautiful leather, and all day comfort. When walking on a wood floor, the sound alone turns heads.

First let me say, I love Cheaney shoes. I have purchased two pairs in the past two years. I should explain the "good" rating. While the shoes far exceeded my expectations, I am shocked that after only 5 days, the shoelaces have absolutely shredded. For $450 USD, I expect more.

Quality

I have three pairs of cheaney shoes, and always feel special when I wear them. People notice the quality, and the style and finish, just stand out when you wear them.
I know that they will last my whole life, and should they need it ,they can be refurbished and brought back to their original condition.

Quality shoes to make a statement

Purchased from the Leeds store. This is a quality semi brogue that has a great shape to the toe. The comments I get from people shows that visually the quality is seen. These are my second pair of Cheaney shoes and they do not disappoint. Worth every penny, will enjoy many years of style with these shoes. Let your shoes take you to where your happiness grows.

Very happy now

This is an update on my rant above.

The problem is sorted - thank you John - and I have my size 8s. I’m wearing them. They look lovely and they are very comfy out of the box - one of the reasons for buying Cheaney shoes.

Sad to do this

I own several pairs of Cheaney shoes or boots. I like them all. I also know that we are in difficult times - one of my reasons for ordering the shoes I won’t wear outside for some time. I’ve coveted these shoes for a long time. I’d hoped to give them 5 stars but I can’t. This has nothing to do with the shoes, which look fine, but because Cheaneys have sent me size 10 1/2 instead of the size 8 that I ordered. On receipt I phoned Cheaney - phones are shut down - and so emailed as suggested. I suggested a solution - short of limbo - to our problem. No reply. As I continued to receive promotional emails, I re-sent my problem as a reply to one of them. Silence. I repeat that I know that there are serious problems in retail and business at the moment. But a sales push with no backup for errors is a poor show - hence my score. If and when I get the right size I’ll review them and expect to give 4-5 stars. As I say they look lovely.

Derby Semi Brogue

The term 'Derby', refers to any style of footwear with a 'open' lacing system, where the facings are stitched on top of the vamp meaning they can be opened outwards, as such, are suitable for a wide foot or a foot with a high in-step.

The word 'brogue' refers to the punched detailing, which at one point was used to let water out of country shoes; these days, they are purely decorative. Semi brogues are an excellent halfway-house between formal toecaps and decorative brogues. They can be dressed up or down offering a similar level of versatility to other brogues.
