Please Bring this shoe back!

I bought this shoe in 2017 and it is my favorite. 8 years later this shoe is in great condition and is a staple in my wardrobe. The shoe has held up very well over time. There are very few designs like this in the marketplace and it provides a nice alternative to other very plain Derbys, the standard Oxford, and the fanciful Broques. You may ask why would I like to have it return? As I was delving into British shoes I failed to understand sizing correctly. I purchased these online and my size in athletic shoes in the USA is typically 11. This translates to a 9 in UK shoes yes a 9. I bought a 9 1/2 and had to augment it with inserts. I would like to be able to repurchase this shoe in my correct size. As a side note this was my second of 3 pairs of CHEANEY shoes I own. I am have become a big fan of their craft.

Excellent

Fit great straight out of the box and look better in person than any photo can justify. It did take several wears for the sole to gain some needed flex but was expected. I wish there was a little more arch support as the last is fairly flat footed. With that said, I’ll be looking to get the Arthur’s and Double-Monks in due time, the leather is top notch, takes polish well and hardly and creasing.

Recommended.

Derby

The Derby, also known as a Gibson, is considered a little more casual than an Oxford or classic Brogue. That being said, the style is extremely versatile, with Derby's often being paired with suits, chinos or jeans, making them a multifunctional investment piece. They are described as having an open lacing system and, as such, are suitable for a wide foot or a foot with a high in-step.

Grain Leather

Country grain is achieved by embossing our classic calf leather to create the grain effect, otherwise known as pebble grain. Revered for disguising creases and imperfections, this leather lends itself perfectly to our countrywear collection due to its resilience. Country grain also softens up very well around the foot, resulting in a shoe that you can wear all day with comfort.
