The Bexhill Derby brogue seamlessly blends craftsmanship, elegance, and functionality. Smooth mocha calfskin enriches a traditional design with a rugged, practical edge. Featuring a distinguished brogue upper and a Cheaney X Dainite rubber sole, it's perfect for those with a high instep. Proudly made in England with the Goodyear construction method.
The term 'Derby', refers to any style of footwear with a 'open' lacing system, where the facings are stitched on top of the vamp meaning they can be opened outwards, as such, are suitable for a wide foot or a foot with a high in-step.
The word 'brogue' refers to the punched detailing, which at one point was used to let water out of country shoes; these days, they are purely decorative and add a more casual edge.
Developed in 2011 to coincide with Cheaney’s 125th Anniversary, the 125 last has a classic but exceptionally versatile shape. Featuring an elongated almond toe and a sleek silhouette, this is English style and tradition at its best. The 125 is one of Cheaney’s most revered and celebrated lasts, playing host to a myriad of styles.

This famous UK made sole has been produced by the Harboro Rubber Company. Since the early 1900's it has been a statement sole used in English Goodyear Welted footwear. The studded tread pattern is instantly identifiable but very effective, as it is ensures the soles do not retain soil and are easy to clean. Harboro rubber compound is extremely durable and hardwearing also very comfortable for the wearer.

With skill and care, our crafts people rebuild the shoes, using genuine components and reconstruct it to its original specifications.
Calf leather forms the foundation of a large majority of our styles due to its classic appeal, hardwearing nature and adaptability. Our signature leathers are sourced from tanneries within Europe. Burnishing refers to slightly darker shades being applied to the shoe, specifically around the toes and heels - meticulously done by hand in our factory, burnishing gives each shoe personality and shows off the leather beautifully.
