excellent - as expected

9th pair of Cheaneys so know what to expect in terms of quality and am not disappointed. Warmer and more attractive colour than suede in photo. Only minor gripe is I'd like the laces a bit longer and stronger.

Great boots - Mallory

Comfortable straight out of the box, feel like very high quality boots. Attention to detail throughout manufacture is evident. They cost twice what I normally spend on shoes but I'll be buying more from the range based on the quality and fit of these.

Great boots

These boots look even better in the flesh than in the pictures. They're softer than a normal leather boot, so instantly comfortable. They're a little higher too, which is always good.

The 12508 has become a Cheaney classic since its introduction in 2009. Acting as the foundation for a variety of styles the 12508 is wonderfully versatile update on the classic 4436. This last has a real presence on the foot with a generous, rounded toe.

LAST GUIDE

Veldtschoen Construction
Veldtschoen Construction

A Veldtschoen shoe contains the same components as a Goodyear welted shoe. However the leather upper is turned out and stitched above the welt rather than the leather upper being wrapped underneath and stitched beneath the welt. This construction method provides more water resistance.

Suede

Suede is the underside of the leather hide and has a soft, textured surface referred to as the 'nap'. Supremely comfortable and adaptable around the foot, suede is seen as slightly more casual and offers a relaxed approach to classic styles. Often mistaken as a fragile material, a good quality full-grain suede is just as hardwearing as calf leather and is easy to maintain across every season.
