Monkey Boots were initially issued to the Czechoslovakian army during the Second World War due to their light yet secure fit and thick tread. Cole was created with the initial functionality of the Monkey boot in mind, but finished in waxy suede and Vibram Morflex sole, resulting in a lightweight, casual boot.

Our waxy suede is infused with waxes during the tanning process, resulting in a material that has a rougher texture, with a more rugged finish and a firmer nap than traditional soft suedes. Due to these properties, waxy suede is a perfect raw material for us to use on a range of both boots and shoes for those who need a more durable suede for a more industrial aesthetic.

Wore them the day I received them!

I had gone to and fro about these for a bit but finally decided to buy. I'm really pleased with them--they are dead comfortable, extremely well made, and have a bit of an edge to them. Expecting to get lots and lots of use out of them (after being unable to take them off when I first tried them on...).
