These have become in the short time of having them my favourite pair of shoes. It's not just the way they look or how fantastically well they are made, it is how comfortable they are to wear.

The instep is so well supported that wearing these for hours don't leave your feet aching. Going up one size a recommended is a must and pays dividend. I prefer a wider forefoot and going up a size helps with that.

Overall, a really well made pair of shoe which can be worn for hours without feeling that you have a pair of shoes on. A bit more expensive than you would normally pay but feel this is well worth it at this time. I may send an update to this review after a year to see how they work out.

Anyone can buy a pair of casual trainers. The likes of Vans and Converse adorn the shelves of shoe shops up and down the high streets of our nation. Their popularity is borne out by the legions of feet which fly their flag.
However I'm not just anyone.
What I wear on my feet I wear to protect them and to ensure comfort. But I also have criteria. Not for me the cheap pumps made in far off lands.
I like my shoes to be British. I like them to be made predominantly by people not machines. I want them to be repairable. I like them to look cool but I also like them to be subtle. Quality and class are things I'm happy to keep to myself, a kind of inner feeling of satisfaction.
These trainers tick all the boxes and a few more. They feel like slippers, look amazing (this was seconded by my 21 year old daughter who genuinely proclaimed they looked 'AWESOME'). They're made in Britain. The soles can be replaced and check this out, there's a Union Jack on the tongue too. Sooo cool.
I own several pairs of Cheaney Boots and their design, quality, build and Britishness are the reasons I return.
There you have it. Don't be guided by the masses. Superlative quality is far cooler than following the herd.
Put on a pair of these and step out of the crowd.
