The term 'Derby', refers to any style of footwear with a 'open' lacing system, where the facings are stitched on top of the vamp meaning they can be opened outwards, as such, are suitable for a wide foot or a foot with a high in-step.
The word 'brogue' refers to the punched detailing, which at one point was used to let water out of country shoes; these days, they are purely decorative and add a more casual edge.
The 12508 has become a Cheaney classic since its introduction in 2009. Acting as the foundation for a variety of styles the 12508 is wonderfully versatile update on the classic 4436. This last has a real presence on the foot with a generous, rounded toe.

The welt refers to a strip of leather that is sewn around the base perimeter of the upper and becomes the integral link between the top of the shoe and its sole. Cork bottom filler is used as a footbed in the construction of Goodyear welted footwear. It is flexible, water-resistant, lightweight, insulative, shock-absorbing and most importantly, comfortable as it moulds to the contours of the wearer’s foot.
The natural fabric used for the bags are composed of regenerated material, comprising of around 60% virgin cotton and 20% regenerated cotton. In addition, the draw string is 100% organic cotton. The paper used to cover the boxes and the interior lining paper of the cardboard are 100% recycled fibre. Only water-based dyes and non-toxic adhesives are added, all materials are 100% recyclable after use.
Made by Vibram this Sole is available on both men and women styles. The cleated tread design known as 'Genepy' is very similar to the Commando but alternatively is made from a very lightweight rubber-like compound named by Vibram as 'Vi-Lite'. Striving on comfort and flexibility, but heavy aesthetic features allows for maximum energy conservation. We offer the Genepy sole in black or brown but also white features in our Spring/Summer Collections for its great versatility.
