Originally designed as a boot for horse-riding, the Chelsea boot really gained momentum through the Mod movement of the 60s and a band you may have heard of called 'The Beatles'. The Chelsea boot's sleek design has a unique silhouette and is an ideal travel boot due to its elasticated gussets and pull tabs.
Having studied the imagery and archives from both the Shoe and Boot Museum and online references, we strived to reproduce an authentic last referencing the pilots attire from WWll. With an industrial feel, bulbous toe shape and high pitch angle, the 142 is renowned for its superior comfort.

Kudu leather is the hide of a large species of antelope native to the woodlands of eastern and southern Africa. Due to their grazing patterns amongst thorny brush and the fact that all the hides originate from wild kudu, their hides will often display scars and scratches that makes each skin characteristically unique. The leather is incredibly strong but surprisingly supple, with a highly-textured, pebbled and glossy finish.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Footwear constructed using Kudu leather is extremely easy to care for and it is recommended to wipe away dirt with a clean cloth, store in cotton shoe or boots bags and use shoe trees to maintain their shape in between wears.
Adopted by the British Army in the 1940's the Commando Sole is highly resistant to wear and tremendous non-slip capacity. Made by Itshide the cleated design and centre star medallions provide great traction and cushioning. Perfect sole for the great outdoors, shock absorbing properties allows exploring the most rugged of terrains less challenging.
With proper care, Cheaney shoes will give comfort, value and service over a considerable time. However, if after wear you wish to extend the life of your Cheaney shoes, we are able, because of the quality of the materials used in the original manufacturing process, to offer a full refurbishment service.
