You can buy a cheaper shoe but when you put on these shoes, my feet just say thank you. The shoes are well made and the fit is perfect. While I have tended to prefer leather soled shoes in the past, these are perfect for wet days in London.

I usually wear boots but a change of direction at work sees me delivering presentations every day now. Although there is a tendency toward a more relaxed look for business, the onus is on the presenter to LOOK the part but if you are on your feet all day, a logical place to start is with a good pair of shoes. These brogues surpass my expectations and with the Dainite rubber sole, there is grip even on wet surfaces. Far and away the most I've ever spent on shoes but I find cemented soles often pull away. Welted construction is tougher and the shoe may be rebuilt. The only trade-off is that such shoes take longer to break in but in the long term, I'm going to be wearing them for years to come. Overall verdict: not expensive for the quality, beautifully made and presented.

I owned already a pair with leather sole for work but got this one for days when it is wet and I have to walk outside. The dainite sole is much better and lasts many times longer than any other rubber sole. Be aware these classical shoes need a bit of breaking in t once that is done they are very comfortable and last for ever

Lovely shoes, soft leather. The soul looks hard wearing (I've only just bought them). The fit is good, slightly broader than most Fs, but that suits my bunions!

Great shoes, Dainite is a bit harder when new but much better for a winter weather shoe. First pair of Cheaney's and very pleased at quality v price. Will get me out of Church's
