Monkey Boots were initially issued to the Czechoslovakian army during the Second World War due to their light yet secure fit and thick tread. Cole was created with the initial functionality of the Monkey boot in mind, but finished in a waxy suede and Vibram Morflex sole, resulting in a lightweight, casual boot.

Our waxy suede is infused with waxes during the tanning process, resulting in a material that has a rougher texture, with a more rugged finish and a firmer nap than traditional soft suedes. Due to these properties, waxy suede is a perfect raw material for us to use on a range of both boots and shoes for those who need a more durable suede for a more industrial aesthetic.

Good fit for wider foot

My eighth pair of Cheaneys. This last fits me very well. The boots look chunky but are quite lightweight. Very pleased especially at sale price which was a real bargain
